Spirent Federal's New Proof of Concept Facility Helps Federal Agencies and Integrators Prepare for Offensive and Defensive Security Operations

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah --(Business Wire)--

Spirent Federal, the leader in network, device and application testing solutions, will open its doors to its new state-of-the-art Proof of Concept (PoC) facility on September 30th, and will run demos at four different times during the day and will be repeated again on October 1. Engineers will demonstrate how Spirent (News - Alert) solutions can help government agencies and integrators defend federal communication networks and critical infrastructures from cyber security attacks. The facility located in Frederick, MD, serves as a Proof of Concept (PoC) integration lab and provides a test environment with realistic simulations of Internet traffic and security attacks that can be used by cyber range integrators and operators.

It's all about OPS!

The value of a Cyber Range can be found in its ability to support operations and the multiple roles that OPS or operational personnel perform. The best cyber range simulations are designed and developed by engineering teams with OPS experience in theater operations, security operations and network operations. Designed by operations experts with such experience, Spirent Cyber Range Simulations empower military, government and industry to rehearse defensive and offensive security operations in the most realistic training environment available.

Spirent Federal's cyber range simulations recreate network infrastructure with security devices, end-points and a mix of malicious and legitimate traffic, emulating internet-scale cyber warfare scenarios of a multi-vendor, multi-site Department of Defense (DoD) or critical infrastructure enterprises.

Leveraging secrity solutions from CheckPoint, Spirent Federal's cyber range simulations at our PoC facility can detect, identify and stop malicious traffic protecting critical infrastructures.

"Rehearsing security operations at Spirent's new Proof of Concept (PoC) facility enables federal agencies and integrators to improve the security posture of their critical infrastructures and assess the effectiveness of their security countermeasures. Developed by engineering teams with real operations experience at government and industry Security Operations Centers (SOC), Spirent's cyber range simulations are the most realistic Internet traffic and security attack simulations in the industry providing a realism never seen before. Spirent cyber range simulations serve real video, audio and web pages simulating the entire Internet and generate thousands of security attacks," said Victor Fernandez, Director of Federal Business Segment at Spirent Federal Systems.
