Code42 Earns Enterprise-Ready Rating from the Skyhigh CloudTrust™ Program

Code42, the leader in endpoint data protection and management for business and enterprise, announced today-on Data Privacy Day-that it has been awarded the Skyhigh CloudTrustTM Rating of enterprise-ready for its CrashPlan enterprise endpoint backup solution. Skyhigh Enterprise-Ready cloud services fully satisfy the most stringent requirements for data protection, identity verification, service security, business practices and legal protection.

"Enterprise companies choose Code42 to protect their endpoint data for three primary reasons," said Mitch Coopet, co-founder and chief technology officer at Code42. "First is data security: we enable the enterprise to keep encryption keys on-premises and in their control, regardless of where their data is stored (public, private or hybrid clouds). The second is scalability: our solution is simple for IT to use, whether they manage 500 or 500,000 employees. And third is trust: we protect endpoint data for more than 35,000 businesses-including the most recognized brands in the world. We're grateful for the Skyhigh CloudTrust enterprise-ready rating-it recognizes our hard work and dedication in protecting endpoint data, everywhere."

Skyhigh identifies and classifies thousands of cloud services, and provides an objective and detailed evaluation of the enterprise-readiness of each cloud service based on a detailed set of criteria developed in conjunction with the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). The evaluation spans five categories:

  • Data attributes
  • Usr and device attributes
  • Service attributes
  • Business attributes
  • Legal attributes

"Companies seek enterprise-ready services such as CrashPlan, but vetting the capabilities and policies of a provider consumes a great deal of time and resources," said Kamal Shah, vice president of products and marketing at Skyhigh Networks. "The Skyhigh CloudTrust Rating shortens the evaluation process from weeks to hours by offering an objective, holistic assessment of a service provider's security capabilities and enterprise readiness."

Code42's Skyhigh enterprise-ready rating announcement coincides with National Cyber Security Alliance's Data Privacy Day (DPD), an international effort to recognize the importance of protecting privacy, safeguarding data and enabling trust. DPD celebrates the Jan. 28, 1981 signing of Convention 108-the first legally binding international treaty dealing with privacy and data protection-and also kicks off Data Privacy Month.
