Record-breaking Number of Leading Technology Investors and Entrepreneurs Expected to Convene at Venture Atlanta 2015

Venture Atlanta, the premier technology conference and largest investor showcase in the Southeast, will return for its fourteenth year on October 20-21, 2015, at the Georgia Aquarium in downtown Atlanta. Venture Atlanta is dedicated to bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, influencers and thought leaders for two days of unparalleled networking and engagement. Last year's event fostered more than 250 meetings between investors and Venture Atlanta presenting companies during the conference alone, as well as in influx of capital, contributing to 2014 as the year of the most venture investment in Georgia in more than a decade. According to the MoneyTree report based on data from Thomson Reuters (News - Alert), Georgia companies raised $188.6 million in venture capital in the first quarter.

To date, Venture Atlanta and its earlier iterations have connected entrepreneurs with over $1.4 billion in funding-a number that continues to grow annually. With the call for companies opening on May 18, Venture Atlanta will select a new crop of approximately 30 promising start-up and high-growth technology businesses that will present to top-tier investors and senior technology executives from across the country. In addition to showcasing the region's best and brightest early and later stage companies and opportunities for extensive networking and face-to-face meetings, Venture Atlanta will also feature outstanding, state of the industry content from renowned speakers.

"Venture Atlanta continues to play a ignificant role in spotlighting the Southeast as an epicenter of entrepreneurial innovation and success," said Tino Mantella, president, Technology Association of Georgia (TAG). "Each year, the caliber of attending investors and presenting companies demonstrates the growth and promise of the technology sector-not only in Atlanta and Georgia, but in the entire Southeast. This has truly become the 'not to be missed' event in the Southeast for technology entrepreneurs and investors alike."

Venture Atlanta 2014 was a sold-out event attended by a record number of Southeast and out-of-state venture funds, including areas such as Silicon Valley, Boston, Raleigh and New York. Since 2012, the number of out of town investors has tripled turning the attention to Atlanta and the state of Georgia as a hotbed of innovation. Last year's presenting companies represented the area's top-performing and emerging business sectors, including cloud computing, cyber security, mobile computing, data analysis and consumer online services. The conference also saw the addition of the Southeast Showcase, which provides an opportunity for investors to see top innovators from areas outside the state.

"Venture Atlanta is a unique opportunity for companies in the region to connect with investors from around the country," said David Hartnett, vice president of Economic Development at the Metro Atlanta Chamber. "The relationships created at Venture Atlanta have been instrumental in helping to match entrepreneurs with the necessary capital to foster innovation and continue accelerating the development of the entrepreneurial community in metro Atlanta and Georgia."

The list of successful Venture Atlanta alumni includes such companies as BitPay, Blue Ridge, ClearLeap, CloudTag, Ionic Security, Insightpool, JouleX (now Cisco (News - Alert)), Kabbage, NanoLumens, NexDefense, Predikto, Parkmobile, SalesLoft, SoftWear Automation, QA Symphony, SoloHealth (now Pursuant Health), Urjanet, Voxa and others, and continues to grow annually.

Early event registration for attendees will open May 11, 2015. Sponsorships are available now and selling out quickly. For more information, visit www.ventureatlanta.org.
