Orchestrating the Edge, Ribbon Ties Up A Partnership with Westcon-Comstor for Cloud to Edge Technology Solution Distribution

Managing security and performance at the edge of the network is not easy as the edge itself grows to include more and more endpoints and cloud-hosted applications.

Westcon-Comstor (News - Alert), a European-based, value-added technology distributor of solutions in data center, infrastructure, collaboration and security today announced they are rolling out Ribbon Communications’ (News - Alert) Network Edge Orchestration hybrid cloud/edge solution to their large base of enterprise clients in the region.

Westcon EMEA has been partnering with Ribbon for several years and are expanding their offering with key features including call quality monitoring, security, traffic shaping and zero-touch provisioning.

Ribbon’s comprehensive Network Edge Orchestration solution combines the cloud-based Edgeview Service Control Center (SCS (News - Alert)) and EdgeMarc Intelligent Edge.

EdgeView SCS provisions, configures and manages solutions at the customer premises and provides real-time visibility into performance and service quality while Intelligent Edge actively monitors, secures and optimizes service quality for voice, data and video traffic.

Based on sales data and projected churn, Ribbon estimates that there are more than 500,000 Intelligent Edge devices under management. The Network Edge Orchestration platform enables users to rapidly scale to meet market demand, reduce capital and operational costs and provide a high-quality customer experience while reducing customer churn.

The companies announced their expanded partnership at Ribbon’s annual customer and partner event, Perspectives 19, in Washington, DC earlier today.
