Infor Rolls Out Cloud Solution for Public Entities

Infor, already one of the leading companies in the world when it comes to business applications in industries that are trying to focus on the cloud, announced the Infor CloudSuite Public Sector. This new suite will offer civic and government institutions unprecedented access to cloud based programs and solutions. Best of all, public sector entities, which may not have the time or resources to dedicate to a great deal of changing and adapting will be able to use these solutions in an out-of-the-box functionality.

The Infor solutions are also equipped with simplified upgrades and minimal customizations for a rather shortened time to value. "By hosting the Infor solution in the cloud, we were able to implement quickly and more efficiently and help move towards a more customer-centric model. It has allowed us to handle a higher volume of customer's applications with the same amount of people, Nina Meyers, CIO, Queensland Urban Utilities, which delivers retail water supply and wastewater services across five local government areas in South East Queensland, Australia, including Brisbane said in a recent statement.

Turning to the cloud in order to handle solutions and applications for the public sector also allows the public sector to focus more time and money on the things that really need to be done, and done quickly. Unlike the business world, where a company has a number of revenue streams it can turn to when it needs an influx of cash, the public sector’s funding sources are extremely limited. Being able to cut down on spending on things like large warehouses for servers or a large IT staff means money and other assets can focus more on avoiding problems and general upkeep. By using solutions like the ones Infor offers, these entities are able to aim resources where they are needed most and avoid redundancy.
