Nobu Hotels, a luxury brand known for its service, image, and reputation, upgraded its global networking infrastructure with an HPE Aruba Networking solution. This latest move enhances its AI-powered wired, wireless, and SD-WAN infrastructure, all built on Zero Trust principles, and is being rolled out across select Nobu properties.
The new network supports mobile, IoT, and AI-driven applications - all integral to Nobu’s luxury offerings. One of the standout features is the AI Concierge, which is accessible through in-room digital voice assistants or the Nobu mobile app. This always-available digital assistant responds to guest requests and proactively makes recommendations based on real-time data and guest preferences - further enhancing the personalized experience Nobu is known for.
Security is a top priority for Nobu Hotels, particularly given the high expectations of its clientele. The upgraded network, grounded in Zero Trust principles, ensures that all connected devices and services are protected. From IoT-enabled in-room controls, such as automated door systems, lighting, and climate control, to operational tools like point-of-sale devices and housekeeping automation, the new infrastructure ensures that every aspect of the hotel’s operations is secure and efficient.
To manage this sophisticated network, Nobu adopted HPE Aruba Networking Central, which allows for seamless management of its campus, branch, remote, data center, and IoT networks from a single dashboard. Additionally, HPE Aruba Networking ClearPass and User Experience Insight (UXI) tools provide security and performance monitoring to maintain a high standard of service.
“Our strategic deployment of HPE Aruba Networking ClearPass and the Dynamic Segmentation capability within our wired switches ensures we can realize our Zero Trust vision without adding IT or operational overhead. In addition, having the visibility to monitor and troubleshoot every property, as well as the one-click ability to apply a network update worldwide, makes HPE Aruba Networking Central a tremendous benefit,” said Rodney Linville, global head of IT for Nobu Hospitality.
“Innovative upscale hospitality companies depend upon secure, streamlined, and simplified connectivity for providing the capability to meet the rapidly evolving expectations of their discriminating guests,” also commented Larry Lunetta, vice president, of AI, Security, and Networking Product Marketing at HPE Aruba Networking. “Whether it’s establishing a Zero Trust security posture, seamlessly connecting IoT systems, or reducing power consumption with energy efficient networking hardware, having a high-performance intelligent wired, wireless, and SD-WAN networking enables Nobu Hotels to focus on providing iconic hospitality experiences rooted in culinary greatness worldwide.”
