Singapore’s Hatten Land Limited, a developer of residential, hotel, and commercial real estate developments, recently announced the signing of a comprehensive collaboration agreement (CCA) with global IT/telecom company, Huawei.
As part of this agreement, the two companies intend to combine resources and industry expertise to create new business opportunities in emerging areas of technology, including cloud computing, VR, data centers, renewable energy, and many others. Additionally, Hatten will utilize Huawaei’s technical knowledge to co-develop cloud-based products and services, as well as eco-friendly data centers in Melaka, Malaysia.
“The Huawei (News - Alert)-Hatten partnership is a strong and uniquely complementary combination,” commented Dato’ Colin Tan, Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Hatten. “Huawei’s expertise in innovation, technology and complex digital product integrations, and Hatten’s established track record and business network in Malaysia and the region will allow us to build the next generation of cloud solutions, digital platforms and renewable energy solutions.
The southeast Asian tech space has seen tremendous developments in digital transformation over the last year, creating a new need for tech-driven business solutions to keep up with global business demands. In fact, experts believe the southeast Asian cloud market will reach over $45 billion by 2025. Hatten Land executives are attempting to diversify the company's business operations by joining forces with Huawei, in order to capitalize on the growing demand for digital transformation services within the region.
The collaboration will also help Hatten Land develop virtual spaces for customers, by utilizing Huawei’s cloud resources to support the development of a digital version of the city of Melaka. Within the virtual city, visitors will be able to purchase NFTs and other digital assets, creating new business opportunities in the areas of hospitality and entertainment.
“Huawei Cloud is excited to be working with Hatten to support its digital related ventures. We believe our technology and innovation will help with the multifaceted needs Hatten has for its strategic pivot,” says Rex Lei, Managing Director of Huawei Cloud, Singapore.
