HPE and VMware Transform Modern Hybrid Cloud

Organizations want to move away from a state of cloud chaos where, as Raghu Raghuram, CEO at VMware, said, “cost and complexity reign,” and evolve toward a more cloud-smart approach.

To get there, businesses need a turnkey hybrid cloud that integrates software, infrastructure and services from the vendors of their choice, delivered from a single strategic partner as a cloud service. The reason is because it accelerates deployment and simplifies operational complexity to enable customers to quickly deploy their hybrid cloud.

HPE and VMware, two companies that drive digital transformation, plan to deliver the turnkey hybrid cloud after revealing the next step in their partnership by bringing together HPE GreenLake and VMware Cloud. HPE GreenLake for VMware Cloud is a fully integrated solution with a pay-as-you-go hybrid cloud consumption model.

Customers benefit from the flexibility to determine the best environment for operating their hybrid clouds. Customers also decide whether to deploy on-premises, in colo facilities, or at the edge, bringing cloud capacity to the places where distributed applications need it most, all managed by HPE GreenLake.

“HPE and VMware will give organizations greater choice and flexibility with a fully integrated hybrid cloud offering designed to accelerate innovation and data first modernization,” said Antonio Neri, president and CEO, HPE.

The HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform, which supports more than 120,000 businesses, provides customers and partners with a unified experience and access to more than 70 cloud services. With HPE GreenLake, organizations benefit from one platform where they automate, orchestrate and run their hybrid cloud strategy.

VMware Cloud delivers a modern multi-cloud infrastructure on any cloud and makes modern application development and deployment faster, easier and less expensive by making Kubernetes part of the core infrastructure platform.

Raghuram said the two enable customers to combine VMware’s multi-cloud software with HPE GreenLake’s cloud operating model and consumption economics to support any workload on a modern hybrid cloud.

HPE and VMware continue to accelerate the pace of co-innovation as they give customers the confidence to deploy an enterprise hybrid cloud with HPE GreenLake for VMware Cloud, available in the first half of 2023.
