The storage industry today is mostly comprised of cloud storage providers that feature services from basic storage to data backups and archiving, as well as some non-storage-related services. One of those cloud storage providers is IDrive, a company specializing in cloud storage, online backup, file sharing, remote access, compliance, and related technologies.

IDrive’s (News - Alert) solution for businesses of all sizes, IDrive 360, enables IT departments to oversee data protection for their organization. This allows them to implement backup plans for units, groups or individual devices, and ensures that data generated by endpoint devices is backed up and ready for restoration in case of a data loss.

Key features of the solution include file backup, image backup, Linux backup, entire machine backup and automated backup. Building on those features, IDrive is enhancing its solution with the addition of full system backup and mobile backup.

The support for full system backup allows users to back up their machine, including all files and folders, installed programs, system settings and the boot files and operating system. This full system backup process is fast, doesn’t require any intermediate local storage, and eliminates the need for any additional storage.

Support for mobile backup is useful for organizations where mobile devices may contain important data. The IDrive 360 mobile application for Android (News - Alert) and iOS lets users securely backup the data from their mobile endpoints. They can then restore data to the same or different device, anytime and anywhere, and restore previous versions of backed up contacts and documents.

With mobile backup with IDrive 360, users can backup contacts, photos, videos and calendar events on iOS along with SMS, call logs and other files on Android. They also can access and restore the backed-up files from iOS/Android devices or your computers via the web.

For those wanting to ensure that data from all devices within their organization can be completely recovered if a data loss situation occurs, IDrive 360 starts at $99.50 per year for five devices and 5TB of space, with plans being offered up to 1,000 devices and 1,000TB of space.
