The specter of quantum computing has cast a long shadow over the cybersecurity landscape. With the potential to break traditional encryption methods, the need for quantum-resistant cryptography has become increasingly urgent. For example, governments and businesses worldwide are investing heavily in quantum-centric research and development to protect their sensitive data from future attacks.

As the world races to develop these countermeasures, a new alliance is emerging to further fortify digital defenses.

QuSecure Inc. announced that it has partnered with NVIDIA (News - Alert) to accelerate the adoption of post-quantum cryptography, or PQC. The collaboration will focus on supporting NVIDIA’s cuPQC library, a software tool designed to speed up the development of quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms.

For context, PQC is a type of cryptography designed to withstand attacks from future quantum computers. As quantum computing technology advances, traditional encryption methods are becoming increasingly vulnerable. PQC is seen as a step in safeguarding sensitive data from potential cyber threats.

NVIDIA’s cuPQC leverages the power of GPUs to handle the complex computations required for PQC algorithms. By joining forces with NVIDIA, QuSecure aims to bring this technology to a wider range of industries, including telecommunications, finance and government.

QuSecure is a veteran in the PQC space, with a focus on providing security solutions for critical infrastructure and government agencies. The company’s expertise in PQC combined with NVIDIA’s GPU technology is expected to create a powerful combination for developing robust security solutions.

“QuSecure is proud to collaborate with NVIDIA as part of a vital alliance under the Linux Foundation (News - Alert),” said Rebecca Krauthamer, co-founder and Chief Product Officer at QuSecure. “NVIDIA’s commitment to empowering developers in the post-quantum cryptography domain with cuPQC now accessible in an open beta release is particularly important in this global effort, as cyberattacks on data and networks are growing exponentially every year.”

The partnership between QuSecure and NVIDIA comes as the cybersecurity industry is facing increasing pressure to prepare for the quantum era. By joining forces, QuSecure and NVIDIA aim to accelerate the adoption of PQC and help organizations stay ahead of emerging cyber threats.
