A TechTarget report, commissioned by Infoblox, has shown that 91% of global organizations utilize at least two cloud service providers to accelerate innovation, streamline operations, and modernize overall workloads. While this approach offers numerous benefits, it also introduces new challenges.
One issue is the complexity of managing critical network services across multiple cloud environments. The proliferation of DNS zones, IP address spaces and network configurations lead to human errors and operational inefficiencies. Siloed DNS environments, for instance, increase costs and hinder agility, while fragmented IP address management across public clouds and on-premises infrastructure create conflicts, which risks network and application outages.
Then, the lack of centralized visibility across hybrid cloud environments results in higher costs due to zombie or orphaned workloads. These unused resources not only consume unnecessary expenses but also create security risks if left unmanaged.
To effectively address these challenges, network management solutions that provide centralized visibility, automation and security across the entire cloud infrastructure are needed.
Enter Infoblox.
Infoblox (News - Alert), a provider of cloud networking and security services, has revealed its new Universal DDI Product Suite. The suite enables cohesive DDI management, comprehensive asset visibility and proactive security by breaking down silos across NetOps, CloudOps and SecOps while offering the added flexibility of adaptive deployment models.
The suite includes three key offerings: Universal DDI Management, Universal Asset Insights, and NIOS-X as a Service.
Universal DDI Management offers a solution for automating cross-cloud DDI environments. By centralizing DNS, DHCP and IPAM across the hybrid estate, it improves efficiency, reliability and security. The product's SaaS (News - Alert) capabilities enable faster releases and reduce customer maintenance burdens, while its ability to manage third-party DNS services like Amazon Route 53, Azure DNS and Google (News - Alert) Cloud DNS provides greater flexibility.
As Todd Burzynski of UnityPoint Health noted, "the ability to run DHCP in a centralized manner and leverage improved failover mechanisms is particularly important in regions prone to natural disasters." This feature helps to support disaster recovery strategies by ensuring continuity of critical operations.
Universal Asset Insights provides a view of assets across hybrid, multi-cloud environments by extending DNS and DHCP to IPAM. This product pioneers discovery, analytics and remediation across an organization's digital estate. By continuously updating the IPAM inventory, organizations eliminate manual tracking methods and automatically identify unused IP addresses and zombie workloads.
NIOS-X as a Service is a cloud-based solution that extends critical network services close to users and workloads without requiring customers to deploy any infrastructure. It offers the operational simplicity CloudOps teams need, along with the resilience, consistency, visibility and security that NetOps and SecOps require. This single solution satisfies the demands of diverse IT operations teams. It lets them modernize on-premises DNS, streamline multi-cloud DNS and optimize branch operations.
“At Infoblox, we are reinventing the management, deployment and security of critical network services for hybrid and multi-cloud environments,” said Scott Harrell, CEO of Infoblox. “Our mission is to provide NetOps, SecOps and CloudOps teams with the robust tools they need to achieve unprecedented collaboration—significantly streamlining automation, accelerating application deployment and dramatically simplifying operations.”
The Infoblox Universal DDI Product Suite is accessible and managed through a unified Infoblox Portal.
