DriveNets, a provider of networking solutions, has announced its membership in the Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC), an initiative dedicated to forging an open, interoperable Ethernet-based architecture tailored for high-performance networking serving AI and HPC workloads.

This latest announcement highlights DriveNets' role as an innovator in AI networking solutions. The company recently introduced its DriveNets Network Cloud-AI, now available for order with Broadcom (News - Alert) Jericho 3 AI-based white boxes.

The solution boasts a performance lead of 18-24 months over competitors in the AI networking industry; this is attributed to its cutting-edge implementation of a high-scale, cell-based fabric featuring cell-based load balancing and end-to-end scheduling. It also provides enhanced performance of large-scale AI workloads across various GPUs and AI accelerators and empowers users to construct open, multi-vendor AI infrastructures.

Network Cloud-AI has also been validated as the highest-performance AI networking solution through independent testing by Scala Computing. This testing is proof of the outstanding performance of the solution, particularly when it comes to job completion time (JCT) at peak workload performance. The offering breaks free from hardware constraints, promoting an open and flexible ecosystem by seamlessly supporting various ASICs, ODMs, and optical vendors.

The company is also continuing its work for the Open Compute Project (OCP (News - Alert)) distributed disaggregated chassis (DDC) standard and its work with UEC will improve Ethernet performance for AI clusters and HPC.

"AI is going to be ubiquitous in cloud and data center infrastructure and will require technology that can effectively minimize GPU idle cycles in high-performance AI workloads," said Ido Susan, founder and CEO of DriveNets. "Solving for that calls for Ethernet-based fabric that supports open, standards-based architectures that eliminate vendor lock-in. The Ultra Ethernet Consortium is committed to advancing open, interoperable Ethernet-based solutions, and DriveNets is proud to support its efforts to evolve the Ethernet standard."
