Cato Networks Launches Safe TLS Inspection to Simplify Encrypted Traffic Monitoring

Cato Networks has introduced Safe TLS Inspection, a solution designed to simplify and enhance the inspection of encrypted traffic. Integrated into the Cato SASE Cloud Platform, it addresses the longstanding challenges enterprises have faced in monitoring TLS-encrypted traffic without disrupting business operations.

Although over 85% of websites use HTTPS encryption, only a small percentage of organizations fully inspect TLS traffic due to the risks of application disruption and the complexity of manual configurations. This gap leaves enterprises vulnerable to hidden threats like malware and data breaches.

According to the Q3 2024 Cato CTRL SASE Threat Report, only 3% of organizations inspect all relevant encrypted connections, even though those that enable TLS inspection block 52% more malicious traffic.

"IT security vendors continue to tout new capabilities and functionality, but if leveraging those capabilities is too difficult or complicated for enterprises, then what good are they?" said Shlomo Kramer, co-founder and CEO at Cato Networks. "Cato was founded on the belief that IT security should become easier, more agile, and more intelligent through the power of convergence. Safe TLS Inspection embodies that philosophy, enabling enterprises to take advantage of the full power of a SASE platform painlessly."

Cato’s automated approach leverages its SASE Cloud Platform, which uses real-time traffic data and deep application intelligence to generate tailored inspection and bypass rules. This eliminates the need for manual configurations, reducing setup time from weeks to minutes.

The solution dynamically updates a comprehensive library of over 10,000 TLS-encrypted applications and domains, expanding weekly with new entries. This ensures IT teams can confidently inspect traffic without risking application performance or user disruption.
