There is no denying the levels that the proliferation of cybersecurity threats has reached in recent years. It’s because of those levels that it is imperative to tackle the complex defense and industrial cybersecurity challenges that loom over critical infrastructure. These challenges not only jeopardize the integrity of sensitive data but also pose a direct threat to national security.

Staying on the topic of national security, a breach in one sector can have cascading effects, potentially disrupting entire systems and services. Without proactive measures in place, production downtime and disruptions in essential services become a grim reality, impacting economies, public trust and overall stability.

Therefore, it is important to tackle these complex cybersecurity challenges head-on, employing innovative solutions and collaborations to mitigate risks and ensure the resilience of critical infrastructure.

To tackle these issues, VirnetX, an internet security software and technology company, entered an alliance with ObjectSecurity. The purpose of the collaboration is to provide innovative solutions that mitigate these risks, with a particular focus on supply chain vulnerabilities that can compromise critical infrastructure.

VirnetX (News - Alert) and ObjectSecurity, recognized for their expertise in the cybersecurity domain, have pooled their patented technologies to create a comprehensive solution available through the International Association of Certified ISAOs, or IACI. The goal of the Homeland Certified Information Sharing and Analysis Organization is to promote the voluntary exchange of cybersecurity threat information among members responsible for critical infrastructure operations.

The integrated solution offered by VirnetX and ObjectSecurity, known as the VirnetX Matrix “Secure Domain” Zero Trust Network Access solution, along with the ObjectSecurity OT.AI Platform, addresses the pressing need for secure, private access to communications and applications. It goes beyond traditional approaches, delivering real-time notifications of vulnerabilities and weaknesses in industrial devices. These alerts encompass a wide range of potential threats, including published and potential zero-day vulnerabilities, exploits and weaknesses, thereby surpassing the limitations of conventional open-source CVE databases and behavioral threat monitoring.

"A growing number of critical infrastructure providers, operators, and asset owners are choosing to deploy private cloud environments to rapidly share information on industry-specific cybersecurity notifications to maintain resiliency,” said Kendall Larsen (News - Alert), CEO and president of VirnetX.

Recognizing the significance of this trend, VirnetX and ObjectSecurity have seamlessly integrated their technologies to ensure the seamless and secure transfer of analysis logs within the VirnetX Matrix environment.

VirnetX Matrix provides an additional layer of protection against unauthorized access, enforces access policy controls and enables real-time network management. These features work in tandem to shield cloud-based and on-premises applications from malware, ransomware and other cybersecurity threats. Leveraging ZTNA and "single-click" technology, VirnetX products are not only highly effective in preventing cyber threats but also offer superior user-friendliness when compared to alternative solutions.

The ObjectSecurity OT.AI Platform approach offers deep insights into cybersecurity vulnerabilities at the firmware code level, covering a broad spectrum of devices such as IIoT traffic light monitors, HVAC systems and patrol car onboard computers.

“By providing proactive analysis to critical infrastructure ISAOs, the resulting solution provides exponential value by sharing these valuable insights in the secure VirnetX Matrix environment," said Susan Farrell, head of R&D commercialization for ObjectSecurity.

National security is paramount, especially with the advancements in tech. This collaboration promotes innovation and collaboration to safeguard critical infrastructure.
