Kyndryl and Cisco Deepen Partnership with Emphasis on Cyber Resilience

Businesses and individuals increasingly rely on cloud-based applications. The issue with this is that the potential attack surface for cyber threats expands.

What businesses need to do is integrate a cyber resilient framework to safeguard against a myriad of cyber risks that can potentially disrupt operations, compromise sensitive data and erode customer trust. This framework encompasses a holistic approach that not only focuses on advanced threat detection and incident response but also emphasizes proactive measures such as security training, vulnerability assessments and regular updates to ensure the resilience of cloud-based systems.

Aligned with this essential strategy, Kyndryl, an IT infrastructure services provider, recently unveiled an extended technology partnership with Cisco. This collaboration is geared toward delivering specialized services that place a strong emphasis on cyber resilience.

Kyndryl offers solutions related to cloud computing, data centers, network management and IT optimization. For example, the company's security and resilience services help businesses fortify their infrastructure, secure their data, and establish proactive measures to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities. These services enable organizations to not only defend against attacks, but also recover swiftly and efficiently.

The partnership with Cisco (News - Alert) allows Kyndryl to tap into Cisco’s comprehensive portfolio of network software, hardware and equipment with Kyndryl’s own cyber resilience framework to help customers proactively address and respond to cyber incidents.

Cisco’s open platform is called Cisco Security Cloud. This cloud-based security solution combines advanced threat detection, real-time monitoring and proactive threat response mechanisms to safeguard organizations from a wide range of cyber threats. Cisco Security Cloud also provides scalable and agile security services that protect networks, endpoints, applications and data, while also offering features like threat intelligence, behavioral analytics and automated incident response.

The open platform allows Kyndryl to integrate multi-vendor solutions and provide a more cohesive and integrated solution. Kyndryl Consult experts, along with managed services for cyber resilience, will then help customers quicken their adoption and decrease their time to implementation.

“Our partners play a critical role in helping customers achieve their business objectives and building resilient outcomes,” said Brian Feeney, Vice President, Global Security Partner Sales at Cisco. “Through our partnership with Kyndryl, customers gain more efficient and integrated security solutions to maximize the return on their security investment.”

With partners like Cisco, Kyndryl co-invests and collaborates on a development process to build scalable offerings. Kyndryl will deliver these solutions to help customers in meeting their business needs in the areas of application modernization, secure infrastructure with zero trust network and hybrid work.

“Our collaboration with Cisco will enable Kyndryl to support our customers’ zero trust journeys with dynamic and tailored solutions while integrating existing security controls,” said Michelle Weston, Kyndryl Vice President of Global Offerings for Security and Resiliency.
