Rubrik Inc., known for its Zero Trust Data Security approach, recently partnered with Mandiant, which is now part of Google (News - Alert) Cloud. This collaboration integrates Mandiant’s expertise in threat intelligence and incident response with Rubrik’s advanced data security and recovery technologies. The goal is to help customers with detecting threats and recovering from cyber incidents more efficiently.

According to Mandiant’s M-Trends 2024 report, while detection times for compromises are improving, attackers still remain undetected for an average of 10 days, posing significant risks. The new alliance seeks to address this challenge by integrating Mandiant Threat Intelligence into Rubrik’s Threat Monitoring capabilities. This allows Rubrik Enterprise Edition users to leverage Mandiant’s knowledge of active threats and vulnerabilities, such as ransomware and malware, to proactively safeguard their data.

Rubrik’s Threat Hunting and Threat Monitoring tools will utilize Mandiant’s threat intelligence to assess and ensure that backups are safe from backdoor threats. The partnership also introduces Rubrik’s Clean Room Recovery feature, which facilitates secure data recovery within a clean Google Cloud or multi-cloud environment - mitigating the risk of reinfection from compromised backups.

As per the partnership, Rubrik’s Ransomware Response Team will assist in data recovery and backup integration, while Mandiant’s Incident Response team will support active breach management and response. Together, they will provide comprehensive support to organizations, helping them recover quickly and effectively in the aftermath of cyber incidents.
