Menlo Security Strengthens Zero Trust Solution with Advanced Capabilities

Menlo Security uncovered a series of attacks targeting 40,000 high-profile individuals, including top executives, over a 90-day period. These campaigns, collectively known as HEAT (Highly Evasive Adaptive Threats) showcased a level of complexity and evasiveness that further amplifies the need for advanced security solutions.

Traditional security measures, such as secure web gateways and security service edges, have "proven inadequate in the face of these highly targeted attacks," according to Menlo Security. These legacy systems, designed for a less complex threat environment, struggle to keep pace with the evolution of cybercrime. Moreover, the intricacies and costs associated with SaaS (News - Alert) governance hindered organizations in their efforts to protect sensitive data.

Menlo's response to this threat is to introduce new enhancements to their platform. With the enhancements, Menlo aims to simplify the adoption and deployment of Zero Trust architecture and allow organizations to reinforce their defenses against these advanced attacks.

The platform now offers application visibility and control, SaaS governance and URL content filtering. As businesses seek to replace legacy security tools like SWGs and cloud access security brokers, Menlo positions its product as a user-friendly alternative that supports hybrid work environments.

A key addition is enhanced support for Apple (News - Alert) devices. A new Safari extension, available on the App Store, strengthens the Secure Enterprise Browser and Zero Trust Access for Apple mobile devices. The platform also includes endpoint posture checks for macOS to ensure secure internet and enterprise application access.

To address the growing complexity of cloud environments, Menlo has broadened its multi-cloud support. In addition to existing Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services (News - Alert) integrations, the company now offers support for Microsoft Azure and Hyper-V. These enhancements provide flexibility for organizations operating in hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures.

Menlo also introduced a Secure Application Access Monitoring Dashboard to help customers gain deeper insights into application usage. This tool provides centralized reporting on user activity, top applications, file transfers, data loss prevention policy triggers and overall system health.

“Powered by the Secure Cloud Browser, and enabled by the Menlo Secure Enterprise Browser solution, Menlo Zero Trust Access makes it easy to implement Zero Trust and demonstrate compliance with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Zero Trust Maturity Model version 2.0,” said Pejman Roshan (News - Alert), Chief Marketing Officer at Menlo. “Enterprises can provide access to applications while hiding them from the internet and without expensive routing changes and endless ‘roll-out’ projects.”

The approach taken by Menlo is on course to bridge the gap between the sophistication of modern threats and the capabilities of traditional security tools.
