Juniper Networks, a provider of secure, AI-driven networking solutions, announced a strategic investment in Quantum (News - Alert) Bridge Technologies, a company specializing in Distributed Symmetric Key Exchange (DSKE) for post-quantum cryptography (PQC) networks.
The partnership comes at a critical time as quantum technology begins to commercialize. Governments in Europe and North America are increasingly issuing guidance to standardize quantum security protocols.
According to industry analysis by Qureca, the quantum key distribution (QKD) market is expected to grow from $6 billion to $13 billion by 2030, reflecting the increasing demand for quantum-resistant security solutions.
“Our comprehensive understanding of the intricate quantum security landscape has enabled us to forge strategic relationships, garner recognition, and build a strong reputation in this rapidly evolving field. We are thrilled to partner with Juniper Networks (News - Alert) and further enhance our ability to help secure vulnerabilities in network infrastructures against quantum computing threats,” commented Mattia Montagna, CEO, Quantum Bridge Technologies (News - Alert)
Unlike traditional methods that rely on asymmetric cryptography, DSKE offers a symmetric key distribution solution for future-proof security at scale. It seamlessly integrates with existing network infrastructures, offering a sustainable security framework that meets the stringent requirements of today’s cybersecurity landscape.
By integrating DSKE technology with Juniper’s quantum-safe VPNs and Crypto Agility solutions, Juniper’s AI-Native Networking Platform allows customers to better protect their high-value data from potential “harvest now, decrypt later” attacks—where data is stored now to decrypt it in the future using more advanced quantum computers.
As per the partnership, Juniper Networks and Quantum Bridge Technologies said they will also collaborate on research and development through Juniper Beyond Labs, a division dedicated to pioneering new technologies and innovations.
“Our collaborative efforts with Quantum Bridge have demonstrated the ability to translate theoretical advancements into practical implementations, positioning them as a frontrunner in securing digital infrastructures against quantum attacks. With this investment, we are helping to safeguard our customers’ sensitive data against new risks and enhance the user experience in an unprecedented threat era,” said Raj Yavatkar, CTO at Juniper Networks.
