IonQ, a provider of quantum computing and networking, has introduced the IonQ Quantum (News - Alert) OS and the IonQ Hybrid Services suite. The offerings will enhance the performance, utility, and integration of quantum technologies in commercial environments.

The IonQ Quantum OS, a complete overhaul of the company's original quantum operating system, is built with a modular architecture to support IonQ’s current and future quantum hardware, such as the IonQ Forte and Forte Enterprise. This updated system accelerates quantum computing processes, reducing classical overhead by over 50% for on-system workloads and cloud network overhead by 85%. It also includes a new error mitigation and compilation suite that achieves up to 100x greater accuracy, while enhanced calibration and control technologies optimize qubit (quantum bit) and gate performance.

IonQ Quantum OS also includes enterprise-grade security and interoperability features, allowing seamless integration into on-premise hardware and software infrastructures.

The company also recently introduced a Hybrid Services suite which was developed to integrate quantum and classical computing resources via the cloud. This suite includes the Workload Management & Solver Service, which simplifies hybrid quantum workload deployment by bundling circuits and iterative algorithms into portable packages for streamlined execution.

A sessions scheduling feature minimizes delays for iterative and resource-intensive workflows while expanding support for cloud platforms like Amazon Braket Hybrid Jobs and Azure Quantum Sessions.

The company also recently released the new IonQ SDK, which ensures smooth integration with IonQ’s Quantum Cloud API and Hybrid Services.

“We designed our Quantum OS not only to address the complex demands of today’s enterprises but to scale seamlessly as their needs evolve,” said Peter Chapman, President and CEO of IonQ. “Our goal is to empower enterprise customers to unlock new possibilities and drive innovation with quantum computing.”
